Choose a quiet window
Schedule around sleep, meetings, deliveries and pet routines. A “run when everyone leaves” rule can be unreliable if someone works from home or returns early. A simple chosen window with pause control may be easier to trust.
Share only needed data
A floor map can reveal the layout of a home or workplace. Understand where maps are stored, who can view them and how to delete them before connecting a device to an account. Camera equipped robots raise additional questions about what images are captured.
Design the interruption
Decide what should happen when the robot gets stuck, the tank is empty or a door is closed. A useful alert says what action is needed and where, rather than repeating every routine status update. The robot should be easy to stop locally.
QUESTIONS TO TAKE INTO A PROJECT
Before you choose a product
- Who can see and delete maps?
- How does a person pause a run immediately?
- Which failures deserve a notification?
This guide is a planning concept, not a product recommendation or a promise of service availability. Site conditions and applicable requirements should be checked for each project.
